The HR staffing panel approval form and workflows are utilised to capture all HR data involving recruitment vacancies and variations to existing employee contracts. A SharePoint form library with an integrated custom web-based InfoPath 2010 form was created in order to satisfy the Requirements Specification. The form provides a simple, user friendly data capture solution that utilises extensive validation and custom rules, accompanied with a sectioned view structure.
Due to the complexity of the HR staffing approval process and the large range of approval members involved, custom workflows were created in SharePoint Designer to provide individual actions to the appropriate user groups.
The Travel Request provides another HR form-based request and approval process; utilising a unique range of validation and formatting rules, structured views and custom SharePoint Designer workflows to accommodate the requirements. This was overall governed by custom locks that ensured that validation was only applied when needed (i.e. not ‘Draft’).
In both of the above form and workflow processes, security groups have had a fundamental influence on the fields that are displayed and on how the form functions. Complex validation and formatting rules were therefore applied against all necessary data fields and form sections.
